  • Formula: TE = (60 * 8) / 180.
  • Calc: 480 / 180 = 2.66°. Rounds to 2.7°.
  • Q3. An aircraft planned a track for A to B (Distance 200Nm) after flying 72 Nm the pilot pinpointed his location 6Nm left of the planned track. Find Track error angle

    5° Left –

  • Calc: (60 * 6) / 72 = 360 / 72 = 5°.
  • Q4. An aircraft planned a track for A to B (Distance 120Nm) after flying 90 Nm the pilot pinpointed his location 4.5 Nm right of the planned track. Find Track error angle

    3° Right –

  • Calc: (60 * 4.5) / 90 = 270 / 90 = 3°.
  • Q5. An aircraft planned a track for A to B (Distance 220Nm) after flying 120 Nm the pilot pinpointed his location 8 Nm right of the planned track. Find Track error angle

    4° Right –

  • Calc: (60 * 8) / 120 = 480 / 120 = 4°.
  • Q6. You are flying from A to B, which is a required track of 180(T). You find that your position is 80 NM outbound from A and 3 NM right of the required track. What is your track made good?

  • TMG: Right = Add. 318 + 3.3 = 321.3.
  • Q9. You are flying from A to B. You find that your position is 150 NM outbound from A and 5 NM right of the required track. If Track made good is 020. What is your planned track?

  • TE: (60 * 5) / 150 = 2°.
  • Planned: Right of track means TMG > Planned. Planned = 020 – 2 = 018.

  • Closing Angle: (60 * 6) / 80 = 4.5°.
